Gays should indeed have the same rights as straight people, but however, they already do. Gay people can marry a woman if that gay person is a man, and vice versa.

A marriage is by definition a commitment between a man and a woman to love each other forever, to forsake everyone else, for better and for worse, 'till death do them part.

So yes, it isn't possible for a gay couple to get married , as marriage is only between a man and a woman, the same as a menstral cycle applies to only women.

However, perhaps we should create another term that's equivalent of a gay marriage. That way, we'd preserve marriage as a heterosexual commitment, as it most certainly was meant to be, and at the same time, two gay people can enjoy the same benefits of marriage.

As for homosexuality being genetic or not, that's totally irrevelant. Gay people deserve equal rights. Only murders and thieves and rapists deserve unequal treatment. You may very well be born to be attracted to the same sex (though that hasn't been proven), but you are not born without the freedom of choice. Meaning, your genetics may force you to be attracted to men, but that doesn't mean you're stuck being a homosexual.

You could be celibate, and just maybe, one of these new therapy options could, just maybe, generate an attraction to those of the opposite sex.

Perhaps you could imagine that the woman is a man, thus making you attracted to her. I don't know, I'm heterosexual, and I don't know the first flying thing about genetics, but I do know that your brain is more powerful than your genes. If you're ashamed that you're gay (not saying that you should be, that's totally your choice), I'm certain that there's something that can be done for you, whether it's some sort of therapy or a gene transplant, whatever. Your genes determine what you are, but there are other things that determine WHO you are.

Well, abortion does end a life, we all agree there. It is not logical to think that everyone has a magical soul the moment you exit the mother's womb.

The question is, however, is killing the fetus murder?

Anyways, I admire your beliefs that you are not in the position to decide what's best for others.

========== In Reply To ========== First off, I agree with the first poster: this poll really didn't have many options.

"Do you see abortion as Murder, or Birth Control...or others listed? Murder Birth Control Saving my baby from a life of hell None of your business"

This question is very difficult for me, and I'm sure for others, to answer. How about E: none of the above?? I wouldn't go as far as saying that abortion is murder but I certainly don't think it should be used as a form of birth control either. And I wouldn't necessarily use it to "save my baby from a life of hell" because I would give any child I brought into this world the best life that I possibly could. I do think that sometimes abortion can be acceptable. If the life/health of the mother or baby is in jeopardy or in cases of rape or incest, then I believe that people should have the choice about abortion. I think that if you irresponsibly get yourself pregnant but feel as if you can't provide for it emotionally or financially, then it should be given up for adoption (instead of having an abortion). But that's just my opinion, I am in no place to decide what is best for other people. Shalom, ~Shoshannah~

----I got news for you, sin is already defeated.----

This is abosultely true. God defeated it when Jesus died on the cross for our sins. However, I do have a question for you: If you are Pro-Choice, why do you feel abortion is wrong? Did you mean to type Pro-Life, or do you not care?

========== In Reply To ========== I am Catholic and pro choice. I believe that abortion is wrong and I don't think I could never bring myself to have one. But, Christ has never ever taught me to impose my faith on anyone else.

It is okay for the people of faith to state what they believe but when they "Demand" that those outside the faith believe, that is Tyranny.

That is the true evil do gooders like you won't face up to. Jesus taught us to spread his word of salvation. Where in his message does he state we must rise up and defeat sin by force. I got news for you, sin is already defeated.

Get over it !

I too believe there is a difference between being gay and being homosexual. I believe that being gay is just being attracted to those of the same sex, and being homosexual means having sexual intercourse with those of the same sex.

As to whether or not homosexuality is a sin, I'll let God decide that. He's the perfect one in the Universe, not me. I'll let Him decide on what is wrong and right. So I don't care if you're gay or not.

========== In Reply To ========== As one of the questions said... "The bible tells us that sex outside of marriage is a sin, and that marriage is ONLY to be between one man and one woman for life. Given this, homosexuality IS a sin. Always."

I believe you can be gay without having sex, considering im gay and ive never had sex. Gay sex is the sin, not being gay itself. For example some verses are "if a man 'lies' with another man as one lies with a woman..etc"(Lev. 20:13)Lev.18:22 is pretty much what lev. 20:13 says, and Romans 1:26-27 talks about lust pretty much. All lust is a sin. Earlier someone tried to tell me that lust made being gay a sin. If this was true, which it isnt, it would make being str8 a sin also. Then I always get 1 Cor. 6:9-10. If you people read what it said, it says homosexual "offenders".

The fetus is definatly alive. It is composed of millions of living cells that grow. It is as much a human as a child is to an adult. It has all the chromosomes needed (and all the DNA Base chemical arrangement of A, T, C, and G) to be human.

It's definatly alive, no questioning to that. The question is, is it okay to kill it?
