Why is it the the answers to the essay questions only show up when the poll creater downloads the results? Why doesn't what people write show up in the public results page? Can you make it so everyone can see them?

First, because that'd make for an awfully large results page if your poll had many votes. Mostly though, it's a privacy issue. Many poll takers ask for personal information using fill-in-the-blank or essay questions, and we don't want to inadvertently expose a voters details by showing those results to everybody. We're considering making it an option for the poll creator, but the default will likely always be to keep them private.

But if the it wasn't private, and the poll creater permitted it, would there be a results page(s) we could see, maybe not along with all the other votes?

Sure, if the full results were made public by the author, there would be some sort of results page to view them.

You mean if the pollster posted them in the message forum, or some pollster-permisson required feature?
