Why is weather forecasting very useful to people? Do you trust modern forecasts?

There can be a lot of different reasons. The weather has a direct impact on our lives in many areas. Several examples:

By measuring the wind speed, storm surge height & inches of rainfall, we can forecast how much damage it can cause. Knowing this data can save lives & insure the safety of people by evacuating them.

We also measuring extreme summer heat, so we can inform public of the dangers of extreme heat, when our bodies are exposed to extreme temperatures, we become more susceptible to exhaustion and heat stroke.

Good answer. I agree with previous author. Weather forecasts are useful whenever they provide information that lets a person make a better decision than would otherwise be possible. I can also share an example: the most frequent cause of airline delays is weather, so accurate weather forecast it very important there.
