TITANIC!!! Could the Titanic have STAYED AFLOAT LONGER in A HEAD-ON COLLISION?

RMS Titanic, and what went wrong.

The real reason for the massive loss of life was nothing more than pride. It was clear that only having enough lifeboats for the first and second class passengers was a definite non-starter. Even Captain Smith had and expressed his doubts about this, but was over-ruled by the ships' owners. At least the company had the decency to apologise for this oversight, but it was way too late by then. My family in Belfast had some members who worked on the ship, and it was built with enough capacity to carry sufficient lifeboats for ALL the passengers, plus the crew. And as for imprisoning the passengers in 3rd class on the decks below the waterline, that is nothing short of murder! Class distinctions and a sense of "we're better than they are" was what killed the numbers that died.
