Barefoot to a dance

My school does a semiformal Homecoming dance ever fall. They cancelled it my Freshman year because of covid, but my boyfriend and I showed up barefoot Sophomore and Junior years. Sophomore year, we started out as the only barefoot guys, but more and more guys took their shoes off as the night wore on. Junior year, about half the guys started barefoot.

I went to homecoming with my boyfriend last year and we were both barefoot the whole night. My school has a dance marathon coming up in February, and I'm planning to go with my ex-girlfriend. Most of the girls take their shoes off before they get on the dance floor, so I'll probably wear dress shoes over there and take them off at the same time as my date.
