Anyone interested in discussing the subject matter of the poll can find like minded people here.

To start the conversation off,..... whether male of female, does the fact that lines for the ladies' room exist in most place/cases bother you, or not?

Male here, the ladies always travel in pairs to stay safe, therefore depending on the venue, a new small restaurant may have only 2 stalls, an Olive Garden might have 4 or 6 stalls. A football stadium that was built in the last 20 years may have 12 or 14 stalls however at a concert there may be 30,000 to 55,000 people, if it's a date, half the people There will be women so you have 15,000 women and only 200 stalls and if everyone gets up to go at the same time ...there is going to be lines

That first sentence is a fairly big assumption. While the perceived phenomenon you describe may be a factor, there are a very large number of social scenarios in which this isn't the case, or won't be possible. As a potential cause of lines, I don't really see much impact.

Imagine for a second two identical lines for two different restrooms. One restroom is being used by individuals who arrive one after the other, and the other by groups of individuals all arriving simultaneously. If the number of individuals in both lines is the same, and the restrooms can serve the same number of people in a given space of time, then the rate at which the lines are served remains the same in both cases.

As for the concert scenario you cite, clearly the facilities would not be adequate for the crowd in attendance regardless of gender. I'm not sure how you think that scenario helps any with understanding the causes of an apparent disparity in the length of lines.

A guy, in the first place, guys run in quickly, do their business and leave, whereas girls are washing, fixing makeup ect. Secondly, a guys aren't going to wait in lines to take a leak, if the lines are to long they'll use the sinks, spray a wall or find a tree.
