School swimwear

Why was nudity fairly common for men and boys but virtually non-esistent for women and girls, particularly as the female body is, by tradition, generally regarded as more attractive than the male body? To me, this is incongruous. There must have been some logic behind male nudity, particularly in the YMCA context.

By having the swimmers do it nude they would be more likely to bw cleaner after the showers since no swimsuit would block the shower. Plus swimsuits might have some dirt on them. No mold or other disgusting stuff on them. Iceland enforces showering and their pools have a lower chlorine level.
