Hi-very interested in your poll. You sound worried about the fact that cp could be brought back into schools, and you say its cos you are at an age when you could receive it. Well thats the general idea, the thought that if you misbehave in school you could get a sore backside as a result. That is a good deterrent. I mean what happens now if you misbehave in school? I reckon that if you got the slipper or cane on your backside at school then your dad found out and you got another dose of it at home of him, you would think twice about misbehaving. Maybe you might want to "try" it once by misbwhaving on purpose just to feel it. Let me know how it goes!

Tim, I rather agree but can understand a guy might be opposed to school CP because he is at an age when he could receive it.

I believe that corporal punishment can be effective. However, I also believe that in most instances a strict procedure involving detention and lines can be just as effective, and may even be more effective with certain students. For this reason, I would try to limit the use of corporal punishment to extremely severe offenses in which the offending student has behaved violently or where other disciplinary methods have been successful. I would expect these situation to be reletively rare.
