Have you ever seen the very first episode, "Simpson's Roasting on an Open Fire" (12/17/89) where Homer becomes a department store Santa to help raise cash since Marge had to spend all the Christmas money on removing Bart's tatoo, but then Homer bets all the money he made on the losing greyhound, Santa's Little Helper.
