Making boys go in shorts...

In the "good old days" it was de rigueur for boys to be dressed in outfits with short pants/trousers until they reached adolesence. Some schools today still adhere to this custom re school uniforms. Many people think this was/is a good practice & would advocate a return to this fashion for all boys. What do you think?

Because it was/is a nice tradition.
Because it was/is a good discipline.
Because it makes boys look cuter.
Because (secretly or otherwise) you like wearing shorts (they make you feel/look sexy).

It's "old-fashioned" & silly.
It's humiliating & demeaning.
It's unfair.
I don't like wearing shorts.
Assuming shorts are/would be required, what length should they be?
Knee-length, full-cut.
Medium-length, trim or full-cut.
Short (fully exposed thighs) & snug.
As an adult, would you advocate such attire being required for boys?
