R U ever called by your SURNAME at school?

In UK schools 50 years ago, it was common for teachers to call boys by their surnames. At some schools girls were also called by their surnames. Things have changed a lot in schools since then, but how much? I would like to find out what names are used in schools today. The results so far are quite surprising.
