An unforgivable sin?

In the Book of Matthew, Jesus says as follows: "If one should speak a word against the Son of Man he may be forgiven, but if he speaks against the Holy Spirit it will not be forgiven him either in this age or in the age to come" (Matt.12:32). Did Jesus really mean what He said here? Is this a sin which can never be forgiven? And what if you have already spoken against the Holy Spirit, before finding Jesus, or coming to knowledge of the Truth? Does this mean you can never be saved? After all, you surely cannot be saved if you have not been forgiven your sins. This poll is designed to cover this matter.
