Why can't we do the same thing with the calendar: Jump ahead from February to April, and then do September twice?

I just leave all set on Standard time and adjust in my head.
In summer, we lose an hour of daylight early in the morning, so people have to get up and get ready for work in the dark. So, shouldn't it be called Daylight Wasting Time?
I don't know---I'm never up that early.
