Are SUVs and full-size Trucks perpetuating the Iraq war?

How do vehicles that waste gas affect our troops? Should those drivers be held responsible for their wasteful actions?
Since our current Iraq war concerns securing our use of Middle Eastern oil, (as our exclusive drilling rights expired in 2000), do Americans who chose to drive gasoline-powered vehicles have a moral obligation to watch how much oil they actually use?
Yes
No
Don't Know
If, when the Iraq war started, Americans began making changes in their driving habits, perhaps our government would have realized our willingness to change-and become more modern. But as long as "the people" continue to act as if their actions don't matter, our government won't have any reason to feel they need to end the war. Question: Why do the people who have troops (family, friends, what-have-you) fighting in Iraq, feel the need to drive the BIGGEST vehicles? (And how do they not see that they are contributing to the need for oil in the first place)?
I don't have any clue, I really don't know!
They think for them it is different, they think for them it is different.
They fall for the marketing, because they have never read 'Media Control'.
They secretly don't like their family and/or think they deserve whatever vehicle they want, regardless.
Have you seen the movie 'Born on the Fourth of July'?
Yes
No
Part of it
If you have seen the movie, (by the way-if you haven't seen it, you REALLY should-every American should see that movie) do you understand the argument AGAINST war, and the idea of war?
Yes
No
Haven't seen it-(but I'm going to now, of course)
And regadless of seeing the movie, do you know that every war we have been in had SOMETHING to do with securing oil as a resource?
Yes
No
This liberal poll is making my conservative brain say "ouch"
In my opinion, Liberals and Conservatives should band together in the fight to STOP DRIVING. If you are wondering why I feel this way, I'll tell you. It's because every time I've ever heard someone complain they are fat, they were a person who drives. And the people I have known who didn't drive have NEVER complained they are fat, because they AREN'T FAT. They walk whenever they go to the store, and CARRY their own groceries, (obviously they aren't going to be buying 24-packs of soda!) and therefore they burn FAR more calories than they consume. Moderation is the key to everything, and as far as I'm concerned, driving is no different. I believe we should all do our part to ease our foreign dependence on oil, and get some much deserved exercise in the process. What do you think?
Sounds great.
Naw. I like driving and contributing to the need for oil.
Other.
P.S. If you answered 'Naw, I like driving', shame on you!
