Weed-Whacking in Sandals?!

The other day I noticed a girl whacking weeds in shorts and sandals without any socks on, and another one in her bare feet, although she did have flared jeans on. I always wear flared or baggy jeans when I'm weed-whacking, and at least a pair of socks and good running shoes, if nothing else for my own protection. I've taken care of a few weeds really quick with just a pair of socks on, but never bare feet or sandals without socks. I was wondering how many other people do this.

Then socks are kind of overkill

If you've weedwhacked without socks and shoes before, how do you do compared to when you wear them?
Not anywear near as good, I had no control over the weeds and couldn't whack them as hard as should be done
Not as good as normally so, but it basically got the job done
Just about as good
Actually better, the experience was more miserable for the weeds and more enjoyable for me
