What should the age of Consent be?

Theirs been a lot of debate over the last few years about protecting CHILDREN from online predators. But I'd like to say that maybe its time, what with puberty going on more and more quickly, to reevaluate our Definition of Child and our current age of consent. Also SOME PEOPLE think that Males and females should have different ages of consent. I wont argue against that idea and in fact Separate answers for those people.

If not who should Have the lower age of consent.
Girls should have the lower age of consent cause they go through puberty quicker.
Boys should have the lower age of consent because their more intelligent.
girls should have the lower age of consent cause they are less violent then boys.
Boys should have the lower age of consent because their stronger then girls.
