Which was Jesus - God or the Son of God?

I have heard Christians disagree about whether Jesus was Himself God, or was the Son of God. Surely these are not the same - obviously I am not my father. However, if you think that these two options are not mutually exclusive, I have included an option for you. The most famous verse in the Holy Bible states that Jesus was the only Son of God (John 3:16). However, most Christians also seem to believe that Jesus was and is co-eternal with God the Father. If this is true, then Jesus may not be truly the Son of God, in the sense of me having a son, because He would be one with God the father. Sons are newly created beings, and are never the same age as their fathers. Anyway, thank you for taking this poll and may God bless you.
1. Which of these is closest to your own belief about Jesus?
Jesus was and is the Son of God, in the sense of me having a male child
Jesus was and is God the Son, the second person of the Godhead
Both of these are true (please explain on the messageboard)
Neither are true - Jesus was a prophet
Neither are true - Jesus was merely a clever man and teacher
Neither are true - Jesus was God's perfect "agent" in human form
Neither are true - Jesus did not exist
I simply don't know
I have no opinion on the matter
