Is Israel still God's favourite country?

Israel is mentioned over 30,000 times in the Holy Bible. A few other countries get a mention, such as Ethiopia, Syria, Jordan etc, but are mentioned just a few times.
In the Old Testament, God is often described as "the God of Israel". Would you say that Israel is God's favourite country today? Give your opinions here.
