How accurate are poll results

I think some users are voting numerous times maybe on different computers or with different names so some polls are way off. You might have 40 or more votes for some celebrity in the looks department while better looking celebrities got zero or one vote. Some site has about 4 celebrities with 40 or more votes while numerous others many better looking got zero or one vote.
I think many polls are inaccurate how can we be sure of the results?
Some people cheat and throw the results off.
The results are accurate.
Please explain your opionion on this.
