Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson

Rik Mayall and Adrian (Ade) Edmonson are a British comedy duo. They have starred together in many british sitcoms including The Young Ones, Filthy Rich and Catflap, Blackadder goes Forth and Bottom. After the TV series of Bottom, they performed a series of Bottom live shows and made a film called Guest House Paradiso. Sadly in 2004, Ade Edmondson said he no longer wanted to continue with the Bottom live shows. This may signal the end of their partnership. Both are still alive fortunately but are now over 50. This is one of the reasons for Ade to give up the game. Ade felt they were too old to be playing the characters that have made them (in)famous. Rik played arrogant, sexy (he thinks), obnoxious characters while Ade played violent, destructive, alcoholic and stupid characters. Ade often played Rik's stupid sidekick. Overall, I prefer Rik over Ade? Do you agree? Do you believe that they were important in British comedy and should they reform their partnership?
