Views on Islam

Peace be upon you. Today, Islam is the world's second largest religion, yet, at the same time, perhaps the world's most misunderstood religion. Currently, there are over 1.3 billion Muslims, or about 22% of all people. It is the world's fastest growing religion, and there are now anywhere from 5 to 10 million Muslims in the USA alone - most likely the second largest religion in the US after Christianity. Almost 10% of French people consider themselves Muslim, and more than 1 million people in London. Muslims are the largest minority in almost all European countries today. Thus, this poll seeks to determine public opinion about Islam in the light of the heavy prejudice against Muslims found in the Western media. Thanks very much for your time, and your response is appreciated. This poll was launched just days before the horrific attacks on New York and Washington. Public opinion on Islam is even more important in the weeks and months following September 11th. No one with an iota of humanity can deny the great evil that the world witnessed that fateful day, but we pray to God that some good - perchance in the form of greater tolerance toward people of other races and creeds - will come to light.
