Would you fight in the war against terrorism?

I found out that the first thing that my friend did when he found out about the bombing was to go down to the marine's recruiting office to pick up the paperwork enlist. He said that if the US goes to war over this, he is going to join. Besides making me feel like a looser for spending the day watching TV, his actions really got me thinking. If this country ends up going to war with Afganistan, what will I do? Though I feel an obligation to defend this country, I think about what happened to the Soviets. Even though Afganistan is hardly even a country, it could still become a long and bloody war, and though I know I should go and fight, I'm not sure that I would. Please think seriously before answering.
