For everyone who received rectal temperatures from their parent(s) as a child. what was the reason for having it taken rectally?
It was just always done that way
They said it was more accurate
They could not get an oral reading on you
That was the only kind of thermometer they bought
The other thermometers were broken

Your doctor told them to do it that way
Family member told them to do it that way
