Is Britain's fighting in Afghanistan Pointless?

People say Britain's fighting in Afghanistan is pointless. We are losing many brave men, already 15 this month. But I disagree slightly with them. Britain is fighting to protect its future. But the goverment has made many stupid decisions. The Land Rovers do not provide enough protection atall etc. etc. Who agrees with me and who disagrees? Thanks guys
