Someone Close to you taking your job

Scenario: You are given the opportunity to work a job that will help advance your career and lead to other possible career opportunities at a later date with the company. You start the job and decide that you like it and with a little bit of practice, you will really catch on to the job and be an asset to the organization. You only work in this position several days before the boss terminates you because he decides you're not the right person for the position and you don't fit in or there is a personality conflict, or something like that. To make matters worse, he offers the position to someone who is very close to you, such as a best friend or a boyfriend/girlfriend or a very close family member. You would probably be angry about the situation, just as anyone else would be. However, would you be against the notion of the loved one/best friend accepting the position that you feel you were wrongfully removed from?
