We've heard a lot about limits on boys. Lets hear about the other side of the gender divide.
This is a poll to examine if and how parents of girls limit their daughters' clothing in summer. A school chum when I was growing up lived on a sheep ranch, and very summer his parents took almost all his sister's dresses, blouses, shirts, undies, shoes, and socks away and told her that little girls don't need any of it in summertime. Inside their house, the most she wore in summer was shorts or a skirt with no undies, no shoes or socks, and no top. Most of the time she just goes bare, even outdoors. My buddy was limited to a pair of cutoff jeans. Off the ranch, she could wear a shirt. They were thirteen and twelve at the time, and this was in the early sixties.
My friend told me that some of the other families around also limited their kids clothes in summer. He said he knew a boy who had to go bare at home all summer long.
So,.. I'd like to know: Do your parents do this too?
