They always say the book is better than the movie?

Why is the book better than the movie. I'll give you two options why it may be and you decide which seems to be the right answer.
Pick the one that seems more true. The book is better than the movie because ...
The book allows my imagination to see the story better than the book OR
The book adds psychological insight which the movie cannot.
Pick the one that seems more true. The book is better than the movie because ...
The movie forces me to see the characters as they are rather than the way my imagination would make them appear. In the movie, I am forced to see the face they give me, but in the book, I can create my own version of the face.
OR ... the way that the characters act, whether too much or too little, deters from my ability to actually perceive the way the story should be perceived, meaning the actors are a distraction, not a benefit to the story.
Pick which one seems true. The book is better than the movie because ...
I am forced to see the movie at the pace that the movie is told, BUT I can read a book faster through the parts I want to read faster and slower through the parts I want to read slower .... OR ....
The book is only limited by the author's or my own imagination's power BUT the movie's imagination is limited to its budget, meaning that much of the problem with a movie is that they just couldn't afford to make it better, but imaginative brain-power in a book is literally limited only by the cost of paper and ink.
Pick which one seems true. The book is better than the movie because ...
The movie is interpretted through too many people, the writer, the director, each actor, and a producer while the book is only interpretted through two people, the writer and me, meaning a book is more personally involved while a movie has too many individual parts.
OR ... a book is in my hands and feels like it is mine, but a movie is out there in front of everyone and seems to be everyone's. A book is private and personal. A movie is public and collective.
Pick which one seems to be more true. The book is better than the movie because ...
Any single thing that an actor does in a movie can annoy me, like an odd tone of voice, or a yell too loud or a voice too soft, but in the book, it wouldn't and I can control the voice in my imagination. I can control the tone. The movie has too many things that can go wrong.
OR ... the movie seems like a commerical project always done for money, while a book seems to be a thing done for intellectual or artistic desire.
