Should I Dress Nicer?

My mom and my girlfriend both think I dress like a slob. I think I dress like a normal teen guy, but whatever. I came up with the below questions to address everything I would wear for different situations and the options for the questions in this poll are going to be added by my girlfriend. Once we get 100 votes or come January (when I go back to school) if that comes first, I promised her that I would give whatever the majority suggests a try.

I go to a public high school in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. We live in a middle class neighborhood in the suburbs outside one of the larger cities. What would you, in general, expect me to dress like on a given day?
Specifically, what kind of shirt/top would you think is normal for a teen guy? I pretty much wear a T-shirt all the time. Please choose as many as you think are appropriate, but only what you would wear on a normal day, not a special occasion.

In general, do you wear the same stuff around the house as you do going to school, the mall, a movie, or a restaurant? For me, I pretty much also have my jeans and Ts unless it's a really fancy restaurant.

No, what I wear depends on where I'm going. I dress down at home and change into nicer clothes to go out even if it is just meeting some friends for a movie.

Could you describe a little about when you would dress nicer than your normal clothing choices and what that typically means? For me, it is only the basics, really: weddings, funerals (luckily I haven't been to one of those yet, though), and the like. For the couple weddings I've been to and my sister's graduation, I had to wear a dress shirt and tie and khakis.
After reading through all the questions, what do you think I should wear to school when I go back after Christmas vacation?
Is there any thing you think needs to be fixed in this poll? Are there any changes that you think I should do to make it better?
