What's your prefered ending in a "kidnapped" story?

When you read a story in the Kidnapped genre, what do you like to see happen to the victim?

I'd prefer an epilogue
between 1 and 5 chapters of afterward wouldn't kill. I like to read about how they need to readjust and how their situation has affected them.
The victim could be rescued at the middle of the book and I'd keep reading!

I think there will be a fine mix of digital and traditional books by then.
I'm keeping all my books in perfect condition so that my children's children can put down their gadgets and know what a book is...or was.
