Corporal punishment is a licence to abuse
A few years ago, my wife invited the cops into our USA home to discuss the crime in our area, unaware that our son was being paddled in my study at the time. From inside the front room they could see the punishment being in process.
The cops didn't know if he were being paddled for discipline reasons or if it were abuse. They didn't do anything. Should they have done?

Corporal punishment should be banned as its a license for abuse? Parents can hit they're kids without it being for discipline reasons and when the child complains, the parent(s) can claim it was punishment and not abuse. Its the child's word against they're parent(s).
