Saturday, April 2. David Letterman just had James Franco on "Late Night", and they spoke about hosting the Oscars. Franco thought he did his best, but looked lethargic next to Anne Hathaway's star struck energy, while Letterman remembers his stint as host as "just awful."
Frankly, I recall Letterman as one of the best hosts for the same reason Ricky Gervais is so good at the Golden Globes -- both are totally irreverant towards stardom.
So, looking back over the decades (depending on your age!), who do you think was the best Oscar host?
Looking back over the decades (depending on your age!), who do you think was the best solo Oscar host? We've ignored the mostly-wretched multi-host years (though Robin Williams stole the show in 1986 and should have been given his own shot at hosting!) Btw, the order of the selections is random, changing each time someone votes.
