Definition of Planet
Whatever your definition of planet, the 9 planets system is bad astronomy because including Pluto as a planet and excluding bodys of a similar size class and placing it with a size class in which it does not belong is incoherernt and nonsensical.
Also, contrary to the standard model (the planetismal hypothesis), planets were formed in pairs by fission from the sun; that is the only explanation for the twin pairs of Venus-Earth and Uranus-Jupiter; ther is also twining among moons of outer planets, which formed in the same way(see MetaResearch web site). Originally, there were 6 pairs but their twins blew up leaving the moon Mars which became a planet and Venus' moon Mercury drifted to become itself a planet, too, making the Classic 8.
