All this SOPA and PIPA talk has got me thinking: OBVIOUSLY the entertainment industry is not hurt by piracy (the numbers they use in net loss and job loss are completely bogus - http://www.cato-at-liberty.org/how-copyright-industries-con-congress/ - not to mention prices are up across the board for movie tickets/movies/music) However, some people seem to think otherwise about piracy - http://ultimateclassicrock.com/duff-mckagen-asks-where-are-the-fansthe-lovers-of-music/
Duff McKagen (ex-Velvet Revolver, ex-GNR bassist) seems to think that piracy has hurt the music industry. And I want to see if he's right.
This won't answer any questions or end any arguments about whether or not illegally downloading is right, but perhaps it'll help us get some actual numbers from real people.
