Summers are getting hotter, and boys are really feeling the raise in temperature wearing school uniforms designed before climate change became such an issue. Yes, way too hot. I get so flushed and sweaty and thirsty I feel like crying.
It irritates me to be hot and prickly and sticky all the time, but I try to put up with it.
My summer uniform's not that bad, though I do get jealous of how much fresher the girls look.

Really jealous. We get unbearably hot every single day in the summer term, and they don't.
Irritated and frustrated. How is it fair that they can keep cool in the summer and we're not allowed to?
Indignant and cross. Everything we have to do at school gets harder when you're too hot, so our uniform make us perform worse than the girls.
I don't mind the difference in our summer uniforms that much.

We have to wear long sleeves so get sweaty under the armpits, but girls don't as much in their short sleeves
You get so thirsty you spend all your money on cans of drink, and then either have to go without or ask somebody to share. Girls never seem to have this problem.
Boys at my school have to wear so many layers on top - shirt, pullover, blazer! All girls have to wear is one thin, white summer blouse.
I can't stand wearing a tie because it makes you so hot, and girls don't have to in the summer
They can breeze around in short skirts and bare legs while we have to swelter in trousers and underwear

They challenge the boys to something physical in playtime, anything from tig to rounders, then laugh and giggle at you when you get hot and bothered and can't play as well as them
They drink a can of pop in front of you and won't share it, even though they know you're thirsty
They show off how cool and fresh they feel while you're steadily simmering in the heat
They talk to you all the time about what a hot day it is and how uncomfortable you must be feeling in your uniform, so it's all you can think about
They delicately hold their noses and ask each other what the smell is whenever a boy's around

Would you wear a skirt in the summer, if boys were allowed to?
Absolutely yes - girls are allowed to stay cool that way, so we should be too
It'd be embarrassing but I probably couldn't resist if it was a really hot summer
I'd wear shorts and not long trousers if shorts were allowed, but a skirt would be a bit much
Skirts are only for girls, I wouldn't wear one no matter how hot I was

As short as possible. Who cares if people see my underwear, I just need to keep cool!
To the middle of the thigh. I don't want to get too hot but I'm not thrilled either by the thought of giving every girl at school a look at my pants!
Just above the knee. Nice and sensible both for keeping cool and protecting my modesty!
Below the knee. I'm shy about people seeing my underwear, and this would still keep me cooler than trousers.
I'd be too embarrassed to wear a skirt to school.
