The Legend of Zelda: My Life [Chapter 5: Link]

FILLER: The beautiful land of Hyrule has lost complete fist. People live in fear, and survival is a twist. To the west side of Hyrule is the town of Prota-Prox, built over Lake Hylia with special wood & rock. It has a mansion that everyone finds creepy, and the thought of entering it will turn citizens weepy. But this place overtime became a nesting ground. A Hoodlums hideout, secretly in town! Lead by Farore, they cheat & steal, and will even hurt others for treasury ideals. One of the main members grew up in this group. The boy in green clothing became part of the loop. He showed promise and never failed a scene. For that, he was made executive at age seventeen. But now Hyrule is in trouble. His burden weights a ton. The decision is yours. It’s time to have fun.
1. You are now Link, an Executive member of a gang called the Hoodlums, at the age of 17. What are your thoughts? (Day 1)
Farore, the Hoodlum leader, must have lot of trust in me if she were to make me an Executive. Her expectations won’t go to a waste.
Wait, I’m part of a dirty thieving gang!? But I’m supposed to be a good-hearted hero. This is wrong…
Pssh, don’t care about anything.
Swords are shiny…
I am thinking that no one can beat me in a sword duel. Heh!
I want to hold the ultimate sword.
I want to meet Princess Zelda.
I want to fight evil monsters.
I want to explore all of Hyrule!

3. Josh Speaks: “Today, Farore wants you to reflect back on your sword training Link. Do you remember how you learned to fight?” (A.K.A. Decide how you learned your fighting skills?) (Day 1)
Yes. I learned my sword styles from my Father.
Yes. I learned my sword styles from you Josh.
Yes. I learned my sword styles from Farore. She’s put a lot on my shoulders.
Yes. I learned my sword styles from both you and Farore.
Yes. My entire style is self-taught. Everything I’ve worked for was put into my training.
What are you talking about? I was always this good!
You must have the wrong guy because I have no idea how to fight.
… Huh? – Oh yeah sure I’ll fight you? *Slice Josh not realizing what he was asking*
4. You have received a special assignment from Farore. There have been rumors that a really rare treasure is inside Hyrule Castle, none likes of what anyone has ever seen! Your job is to travel to Porta-Prox, steal the Magic Lamp from Antique Essentials, use it to enter a cave called Underground Passage, which leads directly into Hyrule Castle, find out whatever the treasure is, and pilfer it back to the hoodlum hideout. Sadly Farore will not be accompanying you on your mission as there is currently more pressing matter to deal with in the woods; but Guts and Alomar will be at Porta-Prox ready to assist you. (Day 1)
I will find this rare treasure, and steal it for the Hoodlums!
I will find this rare treasure, and steal it for myself!
I am doing this mission because of the high stakes involved!
Too bad.... If only they could have assigned me something a little more challenging... Breaking in is just too easy!
I do not even know why I’m doing this mission.
5. When arriving at Porta-Prox you met up with Guts and Alomar. While the three of you were planning… there was a really small two-winged creature flying around. After spotting you it flew up and begins regular conversation. “Hi! I’m from the Fairy Fountain! My name is Flake! You may be good-looking, but I still take the cake!” Your thoughts at this point are…? (Day 2)
He sounds troublesome, but very nice. I like him.
So he mocks others while doing nursery rhymes for extra juice huh? This looks like the start of a beautiful friendship.
So this little guy is from the Fairy Fountain. Hard to believe that you’d see one out in public like this.
It’s got to be joking! I’m 100 times better-looking than any talking mosquito!
Oh! Look! A Fairy! *Captures it in a Bottle*
I must remember to retrieve the Magic Lamp before heading out to Hyrule Castle. (Not paying any attention to the Fairy)
This fairy is annoying!
If this little fairy isn’t out of my face in 2 minutes I’m going to swat it!
6. Flake learns about the Hoodlum gang and decides he wants to become a member. To prove himself he has stolen the Magic Lamp from Antique Essentials overnight, saving you and your gang the trouble of having to do it yourself. Are you impressed? (Day 3)
Yes: This just saved Guts, Alomar, and I a whole lot of time.
Yes: His dedication has proven to me that he can follow orders. And that is something I like in a recruit.
Yes: He was able to steal that lamp with style.
50-50: I may be impressed, but not happy knowing that even a fairy can do our job.
50-50: We were gonna get the Magic Lamp in our posession one way or another.
No: I don’t remember asking him to prove himself.
7. It is past midnight, and the Hoodlums are now trespassing inside Hyrule Castle. You decided to check the Royal Rooms on the fifth floor, while Guts, Flake, and Alomar would search other parts of the castle. As you enter one of the rooms you happen to notice a beautiful girl sleeping on her bed, none of the lights you’ve ever seen. (Day 4)
Who is she? It’s strange, but it feels like I’ve known her for a long time.
I wonder how much that woman’s necklace is worth. Hmmm… maybe this is the treasure we’re looking for.
This room is boring. I expected more from the royal family.
Hmm, we could use this girl. It would be nice to have an extra connection with the happenings inside Hyrule Castle.
We should capture this girl, and use her as ransom! If this really is a VIP for the kingdom then they would be willing to pay a fortune to get her back!
This isn’t the king’s room! Must have gotten the wrong floor!
8. Din Speaks: “This is Zelda, she is Princess of Hyrule. 8 Years Ago her mother passed away, now her father is worried of losing her too. So she isn’t allowed to go out in public, and within a matter of months her name was erased from existence. Just thought you should know.” (Day 4)
I see… So this is Princess Zelda. She's very pretty…
Thanks… but I didn’t ask you, nor did I care.
If she’s so important then why are you telling me this? Furthermore, how did you know I was here? I’ve been hidden the whole time.
Uh Oh! This red-haired girl has seen me! I better use a Deku-Nut and get out of here!
Uh Oh! This red-haired girl has seen me! I better use my charm on her and run away after she gets distracted.
Uh Oh! This red-haired girl has seen me! I need to knock her unconscious quickly!
9. Another woman with white hair has spotted you! Unfortunately for you, she has called the guards! In a short amount of time the alarm sounded, and the kingdom was alerted of your presence. You also hear Alomar shouting “Kokiri”, a codename for “Run Away While I Cause a Distraction”. What Item will you use to help you escape? (Day 4)
Deku-Nuts: I will blind my foes when cornered, and then escape while they are recovering.
Hookshot: I will use this open window as my escape route.
Magic Lamp: I’ll set fire to one of the rooms for an even bigger distraction.
Pegasus Boots: Time to Dash Like the Wind!!!
Sword: As one of the best Sword-Fighters in the land a strategy isn’t need. I’m forcing my way out!
Wait- I am an executive Hoodlum member that posesses more experience under high profile situations! I SHOULD be the one causing the distraction! What is Guts & Alomar doing???
10. Amazingly you escaped through the front gate and made it into town. Not the smartest idea…. But it happened. It has become to dangerous to go back and check Underground Passage at this point. So it’s time to search the market, and see if Guts & Alomar made it out too. Which part of town will you check first? (Day 4)
The Alleyways
The Rooftops
24/7 Taverns
The Stables outside of Town
Forget this! I choose to leave them behind! There’s no way I plan to get caught!
11. After a quick look around town your allies were nowhere to be found. The town was now swarming with soldiers! In your best interest you decided to make your escape hoping that Guts & Alomar made it back to the hideout already. How will you escape? (Day 4)
Farore Wind: Her magic will teleport me back to the hideout.
I’ll steal this Black Stallion I found in the stables.
Pegasus Boots: I'm Running Home!
I’ll walk back normally. Since all the commotion happened inside Hyrule Castle it isn’t likely that many search parties will be sent outside of town. If they do happen to find me then I’ll just take care of it.
12. By evening you made it back to the Hoodlum Cave in the Lost Woods. Upon arrival Farore requested a full detail report on what had transpired over there, as well as an explanation of why Guts & Alomar were left behind. Judging by that reaction you had assumed they didn’t make it back. (Day 4)
Look Farore, the mission ended horribly! I barely made it out of there, and Guts & Alomar are probably in jail if they didn’t make it back by now.
Farore, next time you’re gonna send me on a suicide mission please just kill me on the spot and get it over with!
I’m sorry Farore…. I panicked and didn’t know what to do, so I left before getting caught…
I loved that mission so much! It had so much trill and excitement!
[lie] Oh the mission? Yeah, it was successful! Guts & Alomar are currently storing the treasure in Porta-Prox for safe-keeping.
Leave Me Alone Right Now Farore! Not in the mood!
I’ll explain the details later. It’s been a long day, and right now I need to sleep.
13. During your absence Farore managed to capture someone that had wounded some of the few Hoodlum members. Out of curiosity you decided to go take a look at them. At first you couldn’t tell if the hostage was a man or a woman, but after taking a closer look you discovered that this person was in fact the same girl you saw at the castle! It was Princess Zelda!!! But she was unusually dressed in Sheikah clothing. (Day 4)
Zelda!?!!?! But it doesn’t make sense! What’s she doing out of the castle? And how did she get here in such a short amount of time? And why is she wearing this weird clothing?
The clothes of the Sheikah! No wonder Hyrule Castle was able to hide her so well from existence.
JACKPOT!!! The Rupees Are Gonna Flow in Now! Someone get the ransom letter ready!
Again, this is someone not worth looking at.
14. Then Zelda spoke to you, claiming an odd theory of you being the chosen one, destined to save Hyrule from extinction. As gibberish as her story sounds her approach was light, and your heart was at ease, almost as if you could trust her. Zelda then mentioned that the only way to know for sure would be to travel to Death Mountain Square, located on the top of Death Mountain. All answers would be revealed there: or so she claimed. At that point you decided to break Zelda out of her cell. What is your main reason for doing so? (Day 4)
She will lead me to Death Mountain Square.
She didn’t deserve to be locked up to begin with, so I freed her.
She was in the wrong cell, so I’m moving her to the next one.
She got my attention that’s all. I am a man and she is a woman despite her boyish appearance…
15. You then returned all of Zelda’s items to her, including her weapons, Deku-nuts, and anything else she might have carried. Everything returned to her… except for the golden necklace you saw on her earlier, which is now currently in your hands. Zelda desperately wants it back. She explains that it’s all she has to remember of her deceased mother. If you kept this necklace, however, and sold it you’d end up with more Rupees than you could even count! What will you do with the necklace? (Day 4)
Give it back to her.
Don’t give it back to her.
Hold onto it until you get to Death Mountain Square. If the prophecy comes true like she predicts then you’ll give it back to her.
Make her "earn" it back overtime...
Destroy it.
16. You are now traveling up Death Mountain with Zelda. On your travels you got lost in deep thought. Letting a fairy do your job, leaving Guts & Alomar to the fate of Hyrule Castle, bad-mouthing Farore, and now helping a hostage break free with a possibility of gaining no benefits. Thinking it over carefully: you have committed Treason to your fellow Hoodlum members. At this rate you’re playing Risk Vs. Reward, where only one side wins. Farore will make sure of it! Even if you did gain a massive profit from Zelda’s necklace you’d still pay dearly for everything you’ve done. But you decide to press on to Death Mountain Square with Zelda, and worry about everything once you get back. You both then come across a group of angry Gorans. They state that you and Zelda are trespassing on their mountain. Afterwards they began attacking you both wildly. A battle had started. (Day 5)
I know my skills in combat are excellent but Zelda is dodging every hit! Who is this girl!?
Maybe this battle will ease the tension. Then again it could be my last fight for all I know…
I don’t have time for these games! Out of the way you Human-Golems!
Forget this! Zelda, let’s just run for it. There’s an off-chance we could lose them if we cut corners!
17. You are now at Death Mountain Square at the mountain top. In the middle of it all you noticed there was a sword jammed inside a pedestal. Could this be the Blade of Evil’s Bane Zelda mentioned to you back at Hoodlum Cave? As you approached it your hands gripped the handle of the sword. Zelda’s necklace began to glow, and then you pulled out the blade out with ease from its pedestal. You are now holding the most powerful sword in all of Hyrule! (Day 5)
So this is what it feel’s like to have ultimate power. It’s beautiful…
When we get back Farore will no longer be in command. Muhahahahah!
I will use this sword to save Hyrule like the prophecy state. Evil will be gone from this world.
I will use this sword for my own purposes. History won’t write itself. I will write it with word of my own destiny.
… Massacre… (Begins having really evil thoughts…)
18. Suddenly a voice begins speaking to you from the heavens. “Link, the sword you are holding right know is the Master Sword, also known as the Blade of Evil’s Bane. The Ancient Sages of Hyrule crafted it many centuries ago. It has the power to repel evil, putting them in their place as it sees fit. The Master Sword has chosen you to be its owner; sadly though the sword is restricted from its full power. But now you must make your final decision. The King of Evil is already at Hyrule Castle. By the time you arrive the damage will have already been done. That will be a prelude of things to come if you choose to do nothing. To save Hyrule, or to destroy it. The choice is yours.” (Day 5)
Wait, you expect me to go into battle against an all-powerful evil using a sword that isn’t properly functioning!? Why don’t I just jump off the mountain top now and spare the ending!
I choose to save Hyrule because if I don't then no one will.
I choose to save Hyrule so I can impress Zelda. (Heh Heh)
I will save Hyrule. That way everyone will stop harassing me about it.
I’ll head to Hyrule Castle and take a look, but haven’t decided if I’m willing to save the entire land or not.
I’m going to Hyrule Castle, but only to pick up Guts & Alomar. I could care less about this fairy-tale you call a "prophecy".
There’s no point in me saving a land where I can’t be in it. Farore is going to kill me once she finds me anyway.
I don’t even know why I’m going back to Hyrule Castle.
19. The next day you and Zelda arrive at Hyrule Castle, and to your surprise the place was a mess. The castle walls had been destroyed. Almost every castle guard & soldier was either injured or dead. Even the King of Hyrule had lost his life during the attack. Impa warned you that over a half-a-dozen prisoners escaped during the conflict. It is possible that Guts & Alomar made it out as well. If not that then they have fallen too. The King of Evil has left for the Sanctuary of Forgotten Memories. If nothing is done then the rest of Hyrule will meet this doomed fate! The kingdom requests for your aid due to the desperate situation. How will you reply? (Keep in mind that the fate of Hyrule is at steak.) (Day 6)
Yes, of course I’ll help. What do you want me to do?
Fine I’ll help; at least till I’ve figured out what happened to Guts & Alomar anyway.
Sure, but how many Rupees will my help be worth?
Sorry, but I have my own problems to worry about.
Forget it! You are all on your own!
20. And so you, Zelda, & Flake set out for the Sanctuary of Forgotten Memories. As you step onto these sacred grounds you can’t help but feel the Final Showdown is about to begin, one that will determine the fate of Hyrule no, the entire world! Blades were sharpened, lives have been shortened, eyes were deceived, and balances completely altered. The Master Sword is out of its pedestal. The clock marks itself at 00:00! Win or Lose, when the battle between Good and Evil is over nothing will ever be the same. (Day 7)
All right! Time to settle this once and for all!
If the King of Evil really did kill Guts & Alomar then he is going to pay! I won’t forgive him!
So it all comes down to this huh? Psh! Should’ve just became a musician at “The Show Must Go On” rather than a Hoodlum Executive.
I still get to keep the sword when this is all over, right?
21. Ganondorf Speaks: “How very nice to make your acquaintance. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Ganondorf, otherwise known as the ‘King of Evil’. Don’t bother introducing yourself because I’m aware your name is Link, and that boyish-looking Sheikah over there is Zelda. Let me get to the point: You’re going to surrender by placing the Master Sword inside the portal of the Magic Mirror. Do that and I might make you one of my elite soldiers once I finally rule the world!” (Day 7)
Heh, sorry! But at this point the only words I hear coming out of your mouth right now is “Who’s my daddy! You’re my daddy Link! Please teach me a lesson with your awesome Master Sword!”
Oh! You’ll get to the point all right! But it will be the point of my sword!!!
You’re the reason why Guts & Alomar might be dead right now! For that, I Won’t Forgive You!!!
An elite soldier huh? Well maybe…. – ah, screw it. *Attacks Ganondorf*
Stand back Zelda! I want this guy for myself!
22. The Duel Starts! The Enemy Draws His Sword! How do you begin your attack? (Day 7)
By charging at him like a little kid with a stick, swinging wildly! It should work if I’m a hero after all.
I’ll wait till he fires a ball of light, then hit it back with my sword….. – Wait a minute, that’s ridiculous!? I’m using a Sword, not a Bat! And that man certainly can’t fire balls of light- GAHH-GUHGGHHH! What the Hell Was That!?!!?!
I’ll end it quickly: stabbing this sword straight into his chest.
I’ll hold back and wait for him to make a mistake. Then move in for the kill.
Suddenly, I get this strange urge to pull out a fishing rod and…- UGH! Better just use my sword.
“Hey Zelda, do you have any arrows that fire light?” ….. (Oh right, I forgot... Such things don't exist. Well thanks anyway… useless princess!)
23. It was a fierce clash when your sword collided with the King of Evil’s sword, and duel waged on for about 20 minutes. But in the end it was Ganondorf who knocked away your sword, pinned you to the ground with his foot, and stood victorious! The hero of Hyrule has fallen. (Day 7)
What!?!!!? Only 20 minutes!? I’ve had much more training than that!
Guts…. Alomar… Where are you?
So I lost the duel, now it’s time for me to go down with honor. Finish me!
This isn’t good! I never thought anyone but Farore could get the best of me in a sword duel.
Damn! I should’ve switch sides with Ganondorf while I had the chance!
Why isn’t Zelda doing anything to help me!? Doesn’t she realize I’m gonna die!?
24. Then a blast of energy knocked the King of Evil away just as he was about to finish you off. You looked over to see who did it. There stood the red-haired girl you met at the castle, along with the Hoodlum leader. It was Din and Farore! Flake explained to you and Zelda that Din and Farore were actually 2 of the 3 Golden Goddesses of Hyrule, sent down to make sure the world remained at peace. When evil rises, a hero is born. That’s how it has been in Hyrule for many many centuries. But the hero for this millennium isn’t strong enough due to the Master Sword being restricted from its full power. So they incarnated themselves so that they could combat the threat. (Day 7)
I need more training…
So that’s why I could beat everyone but Farore in a sword duel. She really is a Golden Goddess.
What!?! I went on a quest to get a stupid sword that doesn’t even work!?!
Lies! If you two really were the Goddesses we wouldn’t be in this mess right now!
Goddess or not, it’s dishonorable to interrupt someone else’s duel, even if you did just save my life.
25. It’s clear now that there’s no possible way to win against the King of Evil. Out of desperation, Din uses the last remains of her powers to open up the portal to the Golden Lands from the Magic Mirror. Farore then uses her powers to trap the King of Evil and herself inside a magic barrier. “Goodbye Zelda. Take care of Hyrule for us. And before I go… Link, you are now officially Leader of the Hoodlums, because it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to watch over it anymore. Live life the way you want to, okay?” The barrier itself is then dragged into the portal before it seals shut. (Day 7)
Farore! No! Get back here! Farore… FARORE!!! *begins striking the Magic Mirror*
Farore was like a mother to the Hoodlums. No… I won’t cry… *tries to hide tears*
So as a Golden Goddess she made the ultimate sacrifice. Ugh! Couldn’t there have been any other way?
Farore’s sacrifice is meaningless to me. She decided all of this on her own, so whatever.
It’s Farore’s fault I went through that hell in the first place! Good riddance!
26. The sun begins to rise as the showdown between good & evil come to a close. Zelda now readies herself to become the new successor to the throne, with the goal of making her family proud. Flake, being the only survivor of his clans, hasn’t given up hope. There are still other fairy clans he can turn to when in need of help. And Link, what about you? (Day 7)
I plan to watch over the Hoodlums, and guide them as their new leader. First step is to find Guts & Alomar.
I will live life the way I want to, just as Farore would have wanted.
I will spend the next few years learning how to fire balls of light. (Just how did everyone do that?)
After almost losing that battle I’ve decided to spend the next few years in training. That way I’ll get better, faster, stronger, and never lose in a sword duel again!
With the King of Evil out of the way I am now free to rule the world with the Master Sword. No one will oppose me!
I will quit the Hoodlums and go on a journey of my own. It’s time for me to leave Hyrule.
I will quit the Hoodlums. My next personal mission is to find Guts & Alomar. They’ve got to be alive somewhere.
I will disband the Hoodlums so that everyone can live their own lives.
I will disband the Hoodlums by killing off every member over time. Eventually they’ll cease to exist.
I will kidnap Zelda & use her as ransom while still given the chance. That way I’ll be rolling in Rupees!
Wait- the sun is raising but the battle only took about 30 minutes!? Someone must be playing the Sun Song out there.
