Over grooming cat

My baby Cindy (Lucinda) is a stressed 7 year old cat. She is adorable and very affectionate but wont stop over grooming her fur so she's got lots of bald patches. She makes herself really itchy which causes her to lick even more. We can't afford another check up at the vet right now. Do you have any ideas on how i can help her?
