What age to stop spanking

I was spanked until I was 11 years old. My older brother until he was 14. In my wife's family, her older siblings were spanked up to 17 or 18. Among family and friends I've talked to, the age their spankings stopped varied. Some believe spanking is just for little kids, while others believe there is no "magic" age when it should stop. What was your experience? What do you think? To clarify, the spanking in this poll deals with parent/child disciplinary spanking in the home. This is not about adult or fetish spanking.
