Help Me Get over my Foot Shyness

I can't go barefoot in front of other people. I don't know why. I just get VERY nervous. If you were my parent, what would you do to help me get over it?
Age and gender, please?
Male
Female
Okay, so pretend that you're my only parent (For whatever reason) and that I am your 14-year old son, a freshman in high school.(I'm your only child as well) (I don't know what it's like where you live, but here's the situation) I'm extremely nervous about my bare feet being seen by ANYONE, including you. I won't even go swimming or wear sandals outside. We live across the street from a very wide, grassy area with a park and 2 places for playing softball and a sand-pit volleyball court. I'm more nervous since it's not too often that you find someone outside and barefoot unless they're playing volleyball. Your job is to help me get over my shyness.
First, which method would you try to help me get over my problem?
Force you to go barefoot, even outside and in public.
Slowly get you used to going barefoot until you're comfortable.
Even if you didn't pick "Force you to go barefoot", answer these next questions as if you did. (Pretend this thing starts near the beginning of summer.) What would be the standards for "forcing" me to go barefoot? Check all that apply.
You are required to go barefoot in the house at all times.
You are required to go barefoot in the yard/around the neighborhood at all times. (Regardless of weather unless winter)
You may NOT wear shoes or socks when visiting the park across the street. (Regardless of weather unless winter)
You may wear flip-flops outside.
You must go barefoot at any friend's or relative's house.
You may wear flip-flops at a friend/relative's house.
You must go barefoot while you are in anyone's car.
You may wear flip-flops in public places.
If a store or restaurant requires shoes, you may only wear flip-flops.
If store or restaurant requires shoes, tough luck. You can't go in.
You may ONLY wear flip-flops outside if it rains.
If it's winter or very cold, but there's no snow, you are still not permitted shoes.
If it's winter or very cold, but there's no snow, you may only wear flip-flops.
You may wear closed-toe shoes if it's ____ degrees or colder.
You may wear closed-toe shoes if it snows.
You may wear closed-toe shoes if the snow is 4 in. or higher.
You may wear closed-toe shoes if it's below freezing temp.
Even if it snows, you still must go barefoot if you aren't staying outside for TOO long. (For something like taking trash out, walking to the car, ect.)
Even if it snows, you must go barefoot, regardless of how deep, unless you're about to get frostbite.
You may only wear socks with closed-toe shoes.
You cannot wear socks whatsoever.
You HAVE to go barefoot at school. (Technically not against the dress code.)
You may wear flip-flops in school.
You may only wear flip-flops in school if it's cold outside.
You may wear closed-toe shoes outside for nature-related activities like camping or hiking.
You may wear sandals outside for nature-related activities like camping or hiking.
You still must go barefoot for nature-related activities like camping or hiking.

What would you do to make SURE that I have to go barefoot? Check all that apply.
Hide all of your shoes except a pair of flip-flops.
Hide all pairs of socks.
Hide ALL footwear in the house.
Throw away all of your shoes.
Throw away all of your socks.
I'll give you a pair of shoes only when you're allowed to have them.
If you want flip-flops or shoes, you have to buy them with your own money; I will not supply them. Even then, you can only wear them when permitted.
If you want flip-flops or shoes, you'll have to find where I keep them first.
I would just trust you to obey the rules.

As an add on, what would you do to be certain I was going barefoot in front of other people? (Those listed are assuming that this is summertime.)
I would enroll you in an activity that requires bare feet.
I would make you go outside to the park for 30 minutes every day, and all footwear would be banned.
I would make you go outside to the park for 1 hour every day, and all footwear would be banned.
I would make you run around the block once per day, and you couldn't wear shoes for the run.
I would make you run around the block twice per day, and you couldn't wear shoes for the run.
I would purposefully give you outdoor chores that you wouldn't normally have to do, just so you would have to go outside.
I would switch all of your indoor chores for outdoor ones, guaranteeing that you have to go outside.
I wouldn't add anything on.

If I ever broke one of your rules regarding where I could and couldn't wear flip-flops, or if I wore shoes, what would be the consequence?
Grounded for 1 week.
Grounded for 2 weeks.
Grounded for 1 month.
You cannot wear flip-flops or shoes for 1 week, even where you normally could.
You cannot wear flip-flops or shoes for 2 weeks, even where you normally could.

(SKIP if you did not say I had to go barefoot at school.) If I came home one day, saying that some people at school were picking on me for going barefoot, what would you say?
One day, I come home with a permission slip for a field trip coming up. They REQUIRE anyone who's coming to wear closed-toe shoes on that day. Which, you have probably figured out by now, means that I can't attend in flip-flops, sandals, or bare feet. What would do regarding this?
You may wear gym shoes and attend the field trip, but for THAT DAY only.
You may wear gym shoes and attend the trip, but first you have to...
Tough luck, you can't go.

Okay, now we're going the other direction and pretend that you're slowly moving towards the goal instead of FORCING me to go barefoot. What kinds of things would you do/have me do?
Make a no-shoes/no-socks rule, but for the house only. If visitors come, you can wear socks.
Make a no-shoes/no socks rule for the house only, but later on move that rule to outside, then the neighborhood, and so on.
Try to use encouragement instead enforcing it with rules and such.
Offer small rewards for going barefoot outside and in public and/or for a certain about of time.
I'll hide your regular shoes, and temporarily replace them with shoes that bother your feet. (I've seen this happen, and it DOES work)

(SKIP if you're not shy about bare feet like me) Imagine yourself in the position I'm in in this poll. Your parent has just made a set of rules because of your shyness. They are: [You are barefoot in the house at all times (Go figure); You may NOT wear shoes or flip-flops when you go outside in warm weather; Whenever you go to the park, bike riding, ect. you still must go barefoot; You can't wear shoes or socks to a friend's/relative's house; During summer, you go to school in flip-flops or with gym shoes in winter; You can only wear closed-toe shoes if it snows, flip-flops are permitted when it's cold enough; If it rains, you still must go barefoot; You can wear flip-flops for camping or hiking; Socks are NEVER allowed. Ever; You may wear flip-flops in public buildings.] If you break any of these rules, you have to attend school in bare feet for the next 7 school days (Even if it's winter), AND you go barefoot in public, unless it's at a place where it's banned. If school ever has an event that requires closed-toe shoes, too bad.
Put yourself in my shoes (Well... the ones I can't use anyway). If your parent enforced the rules above, what would you think?
Any last remarks? (P.S. I'm not under the effect of these rules, I'm just shy.)
