elf costume

My girlfriend and I signed up to work a santa workshop for volunteer hours. We were told to wear elf attire. So my girlfriend said she would take care of the costumes. When she came back she brought back two identical costumes. This included red and green tights, a elf tunic, and elf slippers, and a elf hat and ears. When I went to try it on I felt exposed. What should I do.
