Psych in school

This poll is to get feedback for a school project. I want to touch on how the government can use psychology to better prevent school shootings and improve the lives of their students overall. Help me better your life at school.
Do you feel like the counselors at your school provide the help you are looking for?
yes
no
Do you think it would be beneficial to you or others if teacher were more educated about psychology and recognizing the signs of someone who is upset?
Paul Ekman studied facial expressions and found that across cultures people make the same involuntary facial movements that serve as a window to what they are actually feeling. It is possible to learn to read these involuntary muscle movement and interpret someones emotions from them. What if there were people at your school that could do this? How would you feel if someone noticed you and what you were actually feeling?
The topic of this project is to see how the government can use psychology to prevent school shootings. Our idea here is that noticing the students and being concerned when they they shows signs of distress can help in preventing these students from going far enough to harm themselves or others. What do you think? What do you think the government can do to better help their students?
If you don't mind, please share a story of yours either when a teacher or counselor failed to notice, failed to ask questions, or failed to help. No names are required but if you could offer the name of your school it would be greatly appreciated. This is solely for the purpose of research/data.
Any additional comments? Anything not touched on that you wish school officials did that they don't?
