Men are from mars and women are from venus?

I went to a hip new donut shop to get donuts for breakfast on the weekend. I went with my 7 year old son. Before going, I asked my wife if she wanted a donut and she said "no". When we went to the donut store, the person working there offered my son a donut hole (complimentary), which he ate on site. We purchased 1 donut each for us (2 total) and returned home. When we returned home i told my wife what had transpired at the donut store and she was angry we had not brought home the donut hole for her. I could not understand.

I am being inconsiderate. Even though my wife did not ask for a donut, I should have brought home the donut hole for her.

My wife is being unreasonable. It is not realistic for a 7 year old to forego a gifted donut hole and she did not ask for a donut.
