The conflict of restaurants versus vegans.

If a vegan is making an order of a sandwich, taco, or burrito in a non-vegan restaurant and wants to make sure whether the bread or the tortilla is vegan and tells the employee to check the ingredients list to see whether it is vegan, is it okay for the employee to refuse to go to the office to check its ingredients?
