Sattelite TV vs Network TV

I have trouble receiving Network TV broadcasts in my location, and had network coverage thru Direct TV sattelite television until they were forced to drop the services by congress being lobbied and passuing a law against it. I have several questions about this situation for everyone.
First, were you or someone you know affected by Direct Tv being forced to drop network service

Did they offer local Sattelite coverage in your area after dropping networks

I feel that the local stations went too far in pushing this law thru congress, and will never watch local news or programming again. Do you feel the same way.
I won't watch local programming again
I don't think it was fair, but I will watch my favorite local shows
