Does being an American mean being rich?

Why is the American dream a large house in a wealthy neighborhood, an SUV, and expensive clothing?
Do you think Americans are confronted with too much advertising? (TV and radio commercials, billboards, magazine ads, etc.)
Yes, there is too much advertising in our culture
No, that's part of being an American.
I've never really thought about it.
After September 11th, how did you feel when the American people were encouraged to buy to keep up our economy?
Didn't think about it.
Tried to help by buying more.
Felt disgusted with the U.S. buying obsession.
How do you feel about large corporations like Wal-Mart, (biggest corp. in world) the Gap, Starbucks, Nike, etc?
I prefer those stores over smaller ones.
I feel fine shopping at them...Why do you ask?
I try to go to local, independant stores instead.
I would never shop anywhere like that.
Would you like to own an SUV?
YES!
Maybe.
No!
