Armenian Genocide

The deliberate and systematic destruction of the Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire during and just after World War I has, to date, been officially recognized as a genocide by twenty-two countries, and most scholars and historians accept this view. To date 40 U.S. states have adopted resolutions acknowledging the Armenian Genocide as a bona fide historical event.

The American ambassador to the Ottoman Empire Henry Morgenthau suggested that, "When the Turkish authorities gave the orders for these deportations, they were merely giving the death warrant to a whole race; they understood this well, and, in their conversations with me, they made no particular attempt to conceal the fact…". Based on this testimony, should the US officialy recognize the Armenian Genocide?

Adolf Hitler said to his generals "Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?" when giving orders to them to send to death mercilessly and without compassion, men, women, and children of Polish derivation and language. Can we allow the Armenian Genocide to be forgotten as Hitler suggested?
