Affirmative action for males in college? (#2)

Women greatly outnumber men in college, like about 55% to 45%. The disparity seems to be getting worse. Isn't the ideal supposed to be about 50/50? Shouldn't the population of college students mirror the population at large? Shouldn't there be the same proportionality? Federal law requires equality between the sexes in athletics in colleges. Shouldn't there also be the same equality in academics? (NOTE: This is a re-issue of my poll on this issue. I made a mistake in the earlier poll and closed it. In this poll, I took the opportunity to revise the questions.)
