Ethical dilemma: who goes extinct?

Let's take the situation where something will cause an unavoidable mass extinction: either the entire human species dies and goes extinct, or every other animal species on the planet goes extinct, leaving only plants and single-cell organisms as the only remaining life besides humans. Whatever the means--biological warfare gone bad, whatever--it doesn't matter, but what's done can't be undone but can only be changed to one or the other. Whether it comes down to popular vote, or somehow it becomes your decision alone to affect the fate of the planet, what is your choice?
What's your choice? Who do you decide goes extinct? Space available to enter reasons of choice if you wish.
Humans go extinct, leaving all other animals and organisms on the planet unaffected.
Every other animal species goes extinct, leaving only humans, plants, and microorganisms.
If you would like, here is more space to write out the reasons for your decision.
