Census Criminal

The Canadian government is changing the census to make the long form voluntary. The long form has been sent to 20% of households and participation was mandatory and those who refused could be given fines and/or jail time. The new proposal is to send the long form to 30% of households and make participation optional. Several groups have criticized the move claiming that the resulting stats will be invalid. Do you feel that the census should remain mandatory and those who refuse to share their personal information should be treated as criminals?
