"Sissy" pageboy/ring-bearer outfits

Have you ever been a pageboy or ring-bearer at a wedding and had to wear an outfit you considered too sissy or too young for your age? Or have you been to a wedding and seen a pageboy dressed in an embarrassing outfit? When I was pageboy to my cousin my aunt made me wear a tunic made from the same satiny lilac matierial as the bridesmaids dresses, tights and strap shoes. This would have been bad for a six or seven year old, but I was thirteen at the time! So please take my poll , and add your experiences in the comments section. Thanks!
