Are heaven and hell real or fictitious?

They are real.

They are fictitious.

Must people suffer in Hell eternally or could they possibly be released from Hell at some time if God thinks their punishment, or reform, or whatever, has been sufficient?

They may eventually be released.

Most people agree that Hell consists in some kind of torment. Should this torment be described as "isolation from God" or "literal fire-and-brimstone"?
